Montmartre is one of the oldest parts of Paris. One day, I was teaching a friend how to do photography and we went up to Montmartre. There is no Metro going up and it’s hard to go by car, so we rode up there on scooters. We tried to shoot the stairs, of which there are many at Montmartre. I had been up there quite a number of times. At the end of the trip, my friend left home and I decided to take a different route out of Montmartre by scooter. On the way out, I discovered this restaurant and couldn’t believe it! It looked like a set from Disneyland but for real! On top of that, cars are not allowed in front of it, so it wasn’t hard to get an excellent framing.
I came back several times until I got this shot. My friend was "upset" that I took the shot right after he went home. Photography is like fishing: sometimes you can come back with a big fish or sometimes with empty hands.
