Snowing for real in Paris !

Posted by on Jan 19, 2013 in blog | 24 Comments

Since last night we have had quite some snow. I was in Paris but I had forgot my camera at home (I live about 15 miles from paris), when I came back in the morning it was looking a lot less white. I still managed to get a couple of shots that I like.

It is planing on snowing tomorrow and this time I will be ready, for the moment when the light goes on and the snow is still fresh, that's when you get the best shots, hopefully :-)

+Serge Ramelli  – Here's a gallery I put together (hand coded) with some of the Lightroom techniques I learned from watching your excellent tutorials. Thanks for the skills and inspiration Serge! http://www.tenacityinpursuit.com/india_gallery.php

I think it even works better as the original.
The sky and snow it a bit too pink for my liking and it looks like a bit more lens correction could be applied.
Anyway, I take the opportunity to thank you very much for the youtube training videos!

Nice +Serge Ramelli! Your famous photo from Lapin Agile in winter edition… Is it again stiched from 4 shots, or this time by one shot with a wide angle lense?

+Serge Ramelli lucky you! I think I'll go out with the tripod if I have insomnia, but don't tell my wife or she's gonna kill me ;) Bad news, I think the weather will be quiet bad, no sun rise with beautiful colors on the snow for us.

Good to know that I am not the only one that occasionally forgets his camera! ;-) Beautiful image , as always, +Serge Ramelli! I seem to remember this cabaret in one of your tutorials! A favorite location?

yes I did because the only thing that had real colors was the restaurant in the foreground, so by desaturating the rest I though it would increase the impact

Very beautiful shot and processing. Did you do selective coloring? I just noticed that the only color is on the building  in the foreground.
